Toufou Sirois Jenner
Born July 4, 1997
Died July 6, 2010
Since July 6th, date that our TouFou left us, I have been trying to write a chronicle about that wonderful little creature that brightened our lives for twelve years. All my attempts ended in tears… I had given up … I just couldn’t do it.
On July 16th, as I was reading on the balcony, Brian told me that we had just received an email. He had tears in his eyes. The email came from Lisa Grear, the first person I really bonded with following the purchase of our condo in Naples, Florida. When I met Lisa with her dog Max, Brian and I were sad because TouFou was undergoing surgery the next day to remove 14 stones in his kidneys. As for Lisa, her dog Max was to be euthanized the next day. Both our dogs were marvellous creatures. Lisa and I hugged each other and we cried a whole lot. Friendship sometimes starts in weird circumstances.
The email that made Brian and I cry will be the chronicle that I am offering you thanks to Lisa… I did the French translation. We are very grateful to you dear Lisa, you offered us a gift that shattered our hearts. XXX
Toufou Sirois Jenner, also known as Rocky, and other affectionate nicknames lost his battle with kidney failure on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Although he had several health issues during the past year Toufou was not a complainer.
He was the beloved and cherished son of Brian and Lyne Jenner. He was preceded in death by his distant cousins, Smokey Coval and Max Grear.
Toufou enjoyed the winter months in Naples, Florida and the summers in Quebec, Canada. He was a winter resident of Ole’, an upscale community in Naples, Florida. If you happened to walk by his home you could always count on a warm greeting from Toufou. Up with the sun he enjoyed the beginning of each new day. By midmorning you might catch him as he sat with his pals at the Internet Café and evenings would find Toufou and his entourage enjoying a glass or two of red wine at his favorite social gathering area catching the last rays of sun under the swaying palm trees. The only part of Florida he didn’t particularly enjoy was the grass. He preferred walking on the brick pavers and avoided at all costs the blades of the fescue grass; which he considered a small inconvenience for living in paradise.
Summers in Quebec, Canada, gave Toufou the lifestyle of a true King. There he enjoyed the quaint city of Quebec taking in the arts, theater, and fine dining. He was always curious about everything that was happening in his world. He loved to travel in the car and the long trips from Quebec to Florida were his highlight for he knew his summer would continue. He also loved to people watch and would sit for hours looking at the world from any window with a view. Toufou loved food and was quite the food critic especially when it came to his favorite Perigord Fois Gras and his platters of fruit and cheese that is only if the cheese was Roquefort from France!
Toufou will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He filled a void in the hearts and lives of his family for many years and they are now left with another void that no other could possibly fill. His family, while grief stricken, feels greatly blessed to have had him in their lives.
A private memorial will be held later this year. Contributions, if you wish, can be made to the pet rescue or domestic animal service of your choice. Thoughts and prayers for his family are appreciated at this time….

Lyne, I love the pictures!!! I still laugh with tears when I recall the time Toufou tried to sneak away from the party and all the dogs followed behind him in single file starting with the big great dane, then the rotty, and the other smaller dogs, all the way to his door....was so funny and you had the best view from your lanai...he will surely be missed but we all have favorite Toufou stories. Maybe your friends will leave their favorite Toufou story on your blog...xoxox
